We would like to introduce an example of using our data logger for groundwater surveys in the protection and conservation activities of underground water for sake brewing!
We would like to introduce a case study using the "data logger" from Onset, which we handle. Sumikawa Laboratory was using a float-type chart water level gauge to collect data. However, temperature and humidity could adversely affect the ink. Additionally, not only was the recording paper prone to deterioration, but slugs would often bite or crawl on the paper, making the data unclear. Therefore, we began using our products. Currently, we have installed "HOBO U20 Water Level Loggers" at over 400 observation points, with depths ranging from 3m to 45m, to collect data on water temperature and water level. With the waterproof data retrieval device "Waterproof Shuttle," data collection and restart can be easily performed, freeing us from the hassle of bringing a computer to the field and the associated weather risks. High-precision water level logger
Using the dedicated software HOBOware, high-accuracy water level data is obtained by correcting the measured pressure with information such as atmospheric pressure, temperature, and fluid density. An additional HOBO water level logger (4m type) is used to acquire atmospheric pressure for further data correction, allowing for more precise data (when conducting multiple water level observations within the same area, one atmospheric pressure correction logger can be used for all acquired water level loggers). No vent pipe is required, freeing users from various issues related to pipe installation (installation work, maintenance, accuracy errors). The completely sealed housing structure ensures long-term trouble-free and maintenance-free operation. An optical USB interface is adopted for data retrieval, reducing communication troubles during data collection. Lightning protection structure - no signal wire is needed, with a shielded structure for the electronics inside the housing. Robust ceramic pressure sensor.
